A Quick Hello from Laguna Liz + Heritage Month, Ice Cream, Music & More
Published 4 months ago • 2 min read
Hi friends,
First of all, thank you.
I’ve noticed a big increase in people visiting the blog lately after some of my recent Facebook posts about Laguna traffic, taking the trolley, and the history of art in Laguna Beach. I truly appreciate every click, comment, share, and kind message.
For those of you who are newer here, I thought I’d quickly re-introduce myself.
I care deeply about Laguna Beach.
I’m Liz, a Laguna Beach native, former history teacher, world traveler, and someone who deeply loves this town and its history. After living all over the world for many years, I eventually found my way back home to Laguna Beach.
LagunaLiz.com grew out of my desire to share the beauty, history, art, trails, beaches, restaurants, and stories that make this place so special.
I know Laguna is changing. I also know tourism here is inevitable. My goal has never been to “sell” Laguna Beach as much as it has been to help people experience it thoughtfully, respectfully, and with a deeper appreciation for what makes it unique. I truly believe education and local insight help people care more about places they visit.
Since it’s Heritage Month in Laguna Beach, I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss one of my newest posts:
🎨 History of Art in Laguna Beach From plein air painters and canyon studios to the Festival of Arts, Sawdust Festival, and Pageant of the Masters, Laguna’s art history runs deep.
Ice Cream Social on May 30th at the Murphey-Smith Bungalow. See you there!
A few other local things I’m excited about right now:
🍦 The Laguna Beach Historical Society Ice Cream Social returns Saturday, May 30 at the Murphey-Smith Bungalow (278 Ocean Ave). I'm looking forward to it.
🎶 Sunset Serenades are back at Heisler Park with live music overlooking the ocean. One of my favorite simple Laguna evenings.
🥗 I’ve also recently published a few new blog posts about vegan-friendly Laguna Beach options, plus several more local guides and updates.
And because so many visitors ask me where to stay, what to do, and how to plan their trip efficiently…
Also — due to popular demand — I’m beginning to create customized Laguna Beach itineraries.
These will be bespoke travel plans for couples, families, solo travelers, girls’ weekends, beach lovers, hikers, art fans, foodies, and more. Think personalized hotel suggestions, beaches, restaurants, sunset spots, trolley tips, hidden gems, hikes, and activity ideas based on your style and budget.
The official launch is still coming, but I’m currently looking for a few beta testers.
If you know someone coming to town who could use help planning their Laguna trip, simply reply to this email and let me know.
And finally…
If you already follow Laguna Liz on Facebook — thank you! The conversations there lately about traffic, trees, and tourists (the “3 Ts” apparently!) have definitely been interesting.
If you haven’t followed yet, I’d love to have you there:
